daniël ploeger is a dutch performance and installation artist, working in berlin, brighton and middelburg (nl).
originally trained as a musician, his performance installations often focus on the combined visual and aural perception
of moving sound sources and explore interactions between the human body and technological prostheses. his work has
been presented in galleries and museums in the netherlands, germany, switzerland, russia, china and the uk.

daniël is currently doing practice-based doctoral research in the field of multimedia installation and performance art
with sonified body signals at the university of sussex where he also teaches site-specific performance,
musical multimedia and music technology.

he received scholarships from the dutch fund for the performing arts (nfpk), bernhard culture fund,
and the nuffic scholarship fund of the dutch government, among others. he also received two research grants
from the european cooperation in science and technology (cost) to pursue artistic research projects.

in addition, he once won the sixth prize in a competition.
